Student Sentence Composing Examples #57
EXPERT SENTENCE
Like most first-time authors, I was filled with hope and despair upon the book’s publication: hope that the book might succeed beyond my youthful dreams; despair that I had failed to say anything worth saying.
JChapps’ Sentence
Like most W.o.W. newbies, she was overwhelmed with excitement and fear upon learning of Blizzard’s newest patch release: excited that her Elf Wizard might succeed in fireballing the malevolent Lich King Acererak; afraid that her level wasn’t sufficient to overcome his minions and the deadly traps within his tomb.
Zack’s Sentence
Like most elite gamers, he didn't have any excitement or enthusiasm about the attractive L.E.D headphones: excitement that would lead to him buying the cheap headset; enthusiasm that would lead him to feel gloomy about his own expensive headphones.
Kai’s Sentence
Like most first-time olympic athletes, I was filled with happiness and hope: happiness that I had made it to the olympics; hope that I will win a medal.
Elisabeth’s Sentence:
Similar to the other funeral-goers, I was engulfed by sorrow and joy: sorrow that the battle had taken far more young lives than we had ever anticipated; joy that we were finally free from the dark shadow of tyranny.
Eli’s sentence
Like most first years at Hogwarts, he was filled with the feeling of excitement and fear during the sorting ceremony: excitement of the discovery of magic; fear he’d be sorted into Slytherin.
Jonny’s Sentence:
Like all beginning season games, we were overwhelmed with fear and excitement before the match: fear that we might loose and disappoint our fans; excitement that it was our first game of the season.
Hunter’s sentence
Like all veteran players, I was accelerated with excitement and disappointment before the final game of the season: excitement of playing for a record; disappointment that I had not accomplished to take my team to the playoffs.
Sam’s Sentence:
Like most players, we were embarrassed and disappointed after our loss to our across town rival: embarrassed that we lost by a lot to an untalented team; disappointed that we will be missing out on the playoffs.
Elizabeth’s Sentence
Unlike most experienced travelers, I was feeling excitement and fright of getting on the plane: excitement that I’d get to explore a new place; fright of how high the plane was flying.
Natalie’s Sentence
Like most Sundays, the evening was filled with excitement and worry: excitement to be reunited with my friends after the weekend; worry to be drowned by homework and tests once again.
Erin’s Sentence:
Just as all the starting players, she was filled with nerves and excitement at the first game: nerves that her opponents would win against her brand new team; excitement that she got to play again from months off.
Matt’s Sentence:
Similar to most first-time skydivers, I was engulfed in excitement and fear upon the plane’s arrival: excitement that the plane might fly exceedingly beyond my wildest thoughts; fear that I had been unsuccessful to think about what should’ve been worth thinking about.
Angela’s Sentence
Like most first-time workers, she had confidence and fear upon her first day: confidence that she will impress her boss; fear that she will not be accepted when she arrived.
Sana’s Sentence:
Like most first-time substitute teachers, kids were disrespectful and awfully rude: disrespectful in that they were constantly talking out of turn; rude because they would sass and adult without hesitation.
