Set up
Dear Diary:
On August 26th of 2014* in Mount Morris, Michigan several friends and I participated in the “Warrior Dash,” a 5K mud run over obstacles including flaming coals, chest-deep mud swamps, and wobbly rope bridges.
Development
We had just reached an obstacle called “Alcatraz” where you had to swim across a lake to a floating structure and then swim to the other side.
Climax
While I was dogpaddling in my group, I heard a guy crying for help and gasping as he went underwater, so I quickly swam back and helped to pull his body to shore.
Resolution
Upon reaching the other side, the man wheezed and coughed up the pond water that he’d swallowed, but he was very grateful to be alive.
* NOTE: Students do not need to have the exact date.
* NOTE: It is NOT recommended that anyone attempt to save someone from drowning without proper training. Very often the person seeking to help risks becoming a victim themselves.
