EVIDENCE GATHERING

PROMPT:  When discussing the short story “Seventh Grade” by Gary Soto, some would argue that Victor’s decision to lie about knowing French was a bad choice.  Others might argue that his decision was a good one.  Make a claim on either side and support that claim with relevant evidence and reasoning.  Finally, synthesize your argument.

Criterion Assignment

          1.       Log on to laptop
          2.       Verify that your wifi button is pushed forward
          3.       Wait for Clean Access to Load – you will see a splash screen
          4.       Google “Criterion ets old”  or https://prev-criterion.ets.org/
          5.       Click on “Go to Student Website”
          6.       Click on “Log in”
          7.       Click on “Sentence Composing 1”
          8.       Click “Continue”
          9.       Type in P4.1.2, P4.2.2, P4.3.2, P4.4.4, P5.1, P5.2, P5.3, P5.4, P5.5
         10.   Save
         11.   Edit with Criterion Tools – Grammar, Spell Check, etc.
         12.   Print Out by clicking “Printer-Friendly Version” on top tab
         13.   LAPTOP Return Procedure
a.       Make sure the laptop is COMPLETERLY turned off and not in STAND BY mode (blinking LED light).  Exit Windows properly.
b.      Check out the laptop number and cart
c.       Place the laptop in the correct slot and plug it in with the correct cord
                  d.  Make sure the correct cord is not left out dangling to make mess
